Swimming pond or conventional pool: which suits your garden?
Both bring water into the garden. They differ in look, upkeep, temperature and space.

Look
A swimming pond reads as part of the landscape. A conventional pool is architectural and clean-lined. A biofilter pool sits in between.
Upkeep
A conventional pool needs weekly water checks plus spring start-up and winterising. A pond mainly needs seasonal work: leaves, plants, filter.
Space
A swimming pond needs about twice the swimming area. In a compact garden, a biofilter pool is often the better choice.
